Using the message board

You can use the message board to post messages that you want share with other operators from within the VIGIL CORE interface. The message appears on the message board for all operators within the role scope of the operator who created it. Message board can be used to alert other operators to important information.

Click in the message board toolbar to convert the board to a floating board. Once floating, the board can be dragged and positioned anywhere on the screen to customize its placement for convenience.

  1. Click the message icon in the top bar to open the message board.

  2. The message board automatically shows active messages. To view expired messages, click.

  3. To select how you would like to display the messages, use the Sort by list (ascending or descending by creation time, operator name, or validity period).

  4. Click to delete the message.

  2. Click the + icon to create a new message.

  3. Enter the message in the text box.

  4. Select a Validity Period for the message.

  5. Click to send the message to all operators.

After it is sent, the message is displayed on the message board for all operators within the same role scope as the sender. Each message shows:

  • The name of the operator who posted it.

  • The time stamp of when the message was generated.

Additionally, a notification icon appears on the message board icon for all operators who are allowed to view the message. After the validity period has lapsed, the messages are moved to Expired messages.
